We believe fine perfumery deserves to be irreverent, free from rigid industry rules and the commercial pressures that flatten creativity into generic, predictable aromas. We believe it is more humane to test our cosmetic formulations with human volunteers than to conduct animal testing. We believe public figures, celebrities and influencers should pay the full retail price just like every other guest who visits our store; fame does not entitle anyone to special treatment or complimentary products. Sandalwood is harvested with careful stewardship practices, honoring the land and local communities in Australia. Rose blooms are gathered in Grasse, France, a region renowned for centuries for rose cultivation, where harvesters pick blooms at the precise hour when their aromatic compounds are strongest. Bergamot comes from groves in Reggio Calabria, Italy, where the fruit is carefully harvested to preserve its bright, zesty aroma. Our concrete candles are handcrafted in Charleston, United States. Our diffusers take shape in Brooklyn, New York. Our neon signage is hand-fabricated by artists in New York City. Our denim totes are woven and assembled by artisans in Okayama, Japan. Every region brings its own heritage, skill set and tradition to the materials we use. We do not simply source ingredients; we build long term relationships with the communities who grow and create them. We respect their expertise, honor their craft, and recognize that our fragrances would not exist without their labor.

ROOTS

Our story began when two friends shared a vision to spark a scented revolution within an industry filled with conventional, formulaic perfumery. They dreamed of creating fragrances built around soul and craft instead of mass marketing. The first lab opened on Elizabeth Street in Nolita, New York City. This urban environment shaped our perspective: raw, authentic, curious, unafraid to challenge industry norms. New York taught us to value human connection, hands-on work, and the beauty of imperfection. From that first small lab space, our world slowly grew, but our core beliefs have never shifted. We still prioritize craft over scale, human experience over automated transactions, and meaningful scent over generic commercial aromas.
